Real Estate

Land, lots of land under starry skies above . . . But, more specifically, we seek two to six acres with:

Trees for clean air, shade, edible landscape, wildlife habitat, play
Sloping topography, including:
– low area for stormwater management, pond
– south slopes for solar access
– high spot for views, wind power
Soil for food production, firm subsoil for building foundations (usually means avoid clay)
All the “near to . . .” must-haves and would-likes that we list elsewhere.

Any leads are graciously appreciated.

  1. I know of a few parcels of land that may be a good fit for your group. The one that I think you would be most interested in is located between Mopac, 360 and 290 near the Barton Creek Greenbelt. It has an existing structure (could be the common house) and room for many more. Feel free to reach out to me for more information.

  2. There are two kinds of environmentalists: those who care more about what they can see, and those who care more about what they can’t see. I might be disturbed seeing a tree cut down to build a large apartment building nearby, but I am more concerned about the many trees being cut down miles away so developers can build small, detached single-family homes.
